The First Ninety Days In A Director's Chair, Drafted To Fit.

Needle & Thimble builds structured 1:1 and team coaching engagements for newly promoted directors and VPs — 90-day onboarding plans, 360° feedback assessments, and quarterly development, billed per engagement, not by the hour.

Before We Begin

Questions A New Director Tends To Ask

Straight answers on scope, billing, confidentiality, and timing — the things a sponsor and a first-time director both want settled up front.

Q1Who do you coach?

Directors and VPs inside their first year in a materially larger scope — the people now leading the people who do the work.

Q2How long is it?

Onboarding runs a fixed 90 days. Quarterly programs run in 12-week cycles and renew by agreement.

Q3How are you billed?

Per engagement, agreed in writing before the first session. No hourly meter, no open-ended monthly retainer.

Q4What is a 360° read?

Structured interviews with your manager, peers and reports, returned as a written read-out that you see first.

Q5Is any of it shared?

1:1 sessions are closed. Sponsors receive only the progress summaries you have reviewed beforehand.

Q6Can the team join?

Yes. Team coaching and stakeholder 360°s run alongside the individual track where the scope calls for it.

Q7In person or remote?

At the Ocala studio, by video, or a blend. Most engagements use both across the 90 days.

Q8When can we start?

Intake typically opens within two weeks of a signed scope, scheduled to your calendar.

Measurements first, advice second. Request an engagement and intake opens within two weeks.

Who Does The Fitting

The Coaches

Every engagement is run by one of two principals from first interview to final seam — the measurements and the coaching are never handed off.

Founder & Principal Coach

Marguerite Vance

Marguerite leads the 1:1 onboarding track and every 360° debrief. Her engagements focus on the move from running the work to running the people who run it — the shift most new directors underestimate until the first quarter is already half spent.

Team & Program Coach

Everett Shaw

Everett runs team coaching and the quarterly development programs. He works with leadership groups on decision rhythms, meeting discipline, and the handoffs that keep a growing function from fraying at the seams as headcount climbs.

The Drafting Sequence

How A Ninety-Day Engagement Is Built

Week 0 — The Fitting

Take the measurements

Intake interviews and the 360° assessment. We gather how the role is seen by your manager, peers, and reports before we draft a single priority.

Weeks 1–4 — The Pattern

Draft the plan

A written 90-day onboarding plan — priorities, stakeholder map, and the first credible wins, laid against your actual calendar.

Weeks 5–9 — The Baste

Fit and adjust

Weekly 1:1 coaching and, where scoped, team sessions. We revise the plan as the role reveals its real shape under pressure.

Weeks 10–13 — The Final Seam

Finish and hand off

A written review, a stakeholder check-in, and a clean handoff into the quarterly development program if the engagement continues.

The next quarter is already being scheduled. Reserve a 90-day onboarding slot.

A Note From The Founder

Measured To The Role, Not To A Workbook

“A promotion hands you a larger title on a Friday and a larger room on a Monday. Nothing about the weekend prepares you for it. We draft the plan that does.”
